Veterinary Technicians

  • Peggy Schwoob
    Veterinary Technician

Peggy joined our team in Jan of 2017 pursuing her love of animals and veterinary medicine. She has worked in the veterinary field since 2001, with many of those years in ER. She graduated with her Bachelors degree in Biology from Metropolitan State University in 2006. Shortly after graduating she completed a zookeeper internship at the Denver Zoo. Peggy enjoys working with the great staff at Northfield Vet Hospital, meeting our clients and providing excellent care to our beloved pets.

Happy mom to “Luna” a Siberian husky and two cats “Genghis Khan” and “Tyler.”

When not working, Peggy loves to spend time with her husband, fur babies, family, and friends and in the great outdoors!

  • Akiko Tani

Akiko Tani joined the Northfield Veterinary Hospital team in October 2018. She is originally from Japan and was working as a veterinary assistant before moving to Colorado in 2010 to further her veterinary medicine education, serving as a head surgery technician for several years before joining our team. She loves and has spent most of her time in the surgery field. She volunteers for different spay/neuter clinics all over the world each year to help save those animals and owners who need help. At home Akiko has a Bernese Mountain Dog named Goma (which means ‘sesame seed’ in Japanese). In her free time she loves to go hiking, snowboarding, cooking, traveling to other states or countries, and driving in the mountains with her husband and Goma.

  • Shantel Munez

Shantel is a native of Colorado and just recently graduated from the Veterinary Technician program from the Community College of Denver. She has two fur-children who are a cat named Hazel and a Quarter horse named Luna. On her free time she likes to go riding, take long drives in the mountains and eat her favorite food, chili cheese fries! Shantel was originally going to go into large animal medicine but because she found a great job here at NVH she is happy to be starting out in small animal medicine. She admits animals are her whole life and she couldn’t be happier being a vet tech!

  • Ellen Groves

Ellen joined the Northfield Veterinary Hospital team in May 2016, pursuing her love of animals and science. She is currently a student at Metropolitan State University, where she is studying biology. Her experience in the veterinary field has allowed her to have many memorable experiences, including a trip to Africa to work with two veterinarians and wildlife. As one of our CVTs, Ellen loves working alongside a great staff in a friendly, easy-going atmosphere. She is the proud mom of a boy named Quentin. Her four-legged child is a chocolate Labrador named Dublin. When she’s not at work, she likes to hike and ski.
